Enthusiasts honored at chrysanthemum show in Vancouver

Lavada Harris of Ridgefield won Best Flower of the Year, Best Pompom and Second Best Bloom of Show at the 66th Annual Chrysanthemum Show put on by the Vancouver Chrysanthemum Society.

Hudson’s Bay — More than 50 ribbons were awarded for individual blooms and container plants during the 66th Annual Chrysanthemum Show, presented by the Vancouver Chrysanthemum Society on the last weekend in October at Clark Public Utilities in Vancouver.

Loraine Allinger of Hockinson won seven awards, including the Best Bloom of the Show.

Lavada Harris of Ridgefield won Best Flower of the Year.

Kenji Hisatomi, Tatyana Anisimov and Alice Hisatomi, all of Vancouver, and Donna Andrade of Hockinson all won special ribbons.

The chrysanthemum society is open to all community members. Meetings are at 2:30 p.m. on the third Monday of the month at the Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St.
