NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Chris McEachin scored 17 points, hitting five 3-pointers, to lead Norfolk State to a 63-43 win over Randolph College on Wednesday night.

Kyle O’Quinn added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Spartans (1-1), and Pendarvis Williams chipped in with 10 points.

Norfolk State had a hard time separating from the Division III WildCats (0-2) and led just 17-11 after a layup by Randolph’s Mike Ehilegbu with 7:14 to go before the break.

But the Spartans held Randolph without a field goal the rest of the half, using an 18-1 run to take a 35-12 lead into intermission.

Norfolk State, which led by as many as 25, held the WildCats to 37 percent shooting (17 of 46) and forced 22 turnovers.

The Spartans, who shot 39.4 percent (26 of 66), recorded 15 steals and seven blocks, including a career-high four by McEachin.

Derrick Woods-Morrow led Randolph with 10 points.
