South Alabama rallies past NAIA Mobile 74-63

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Augustine Rubit posted a double-double to lead South Alabama past Mobile 74-63 on Wednesday night.

Rubit had 18 points and 14 rebounds, and made 10 of 12 free throw attempts. Three other players reached double figures for the Jaguars — Xavier Robertson scored 17 with points, Mychal Ammons 12 and Javier Carter 10.

South Alabama (1-1) finished the game on a 19-4 run and held Mobile, an NAIA team, to one field goal over the final 11 minutes to pull away. Mobile (2-2) led by as many as 14 in the first half. Trailing 34-20, South Alabama closed out the final 7:35 of the first half with a 21-9 run to trail by only two points at the break.

Christian Salinas scored 20 points and two other players had double figures for the Rams. Ji Kimbrough added 12 points and Antonio Hester had 10.
