WSP asks for records in SnoCo exec investigation

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Washington State Patrol detectives investigating Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon want to look at his travel and credit card records, mobile phone and email usage for the past three years.

The Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/tVg1H0) detectives are seeking the information through a records request instead of a search warrant that would create a public record.

The patrol launched its investigation Oct. 26 into possible misuse of public funds after a woman who works for the county approached a county councilman with her concerns.

Deputy Executive Gary Haakenson says Reardon is away from the office this week, rock-climbing in California.

The 40-year-old Reardon won re-election to a third term in this month’s election.
