JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Aloys Cabell had 17 points in his first career start, leading four double-figure scorers for Jacksonville as the Dolphins picked up their first win of the season 70-57 over Samford on Friday night.
Glenn Powell added 14 points, while Chris Davis and Keith McDougald added 11 apiece for the Dolphins (1-2).
The Bulldogs (0-2) went up 9-6 on Raijon Kelly’s jumper with 14:44 left in the opening half. But Russell Powell hit back-to-back jumpers for a Jacksonville lead, helping spark a 22-7 run that put the game out of reach before halftime.
Jacksonville led by 17 points at the break and won despite being outscored by Samford 32-28 in the second half.
