A few schools in Cowlitz County are on snow routes Friday morning, but most of Clark County won’t be seeing any chance of flakes until Friday night, officials said.

The National Weather Service says the snow level in Southwest Washington will drop to about 600 feet overnight Friday. Rain showers before 10 p.m., may make way for mixed rain and show showers until about 10 a.m. Saturday, it said.

Don’t plan on making any snowmen. The weather service says little or no snow accumulation is expected.

Columbian weather blogger Steve Pierce wrote Thursday that the latest weather models don’t show snow sticking to the valley. He did say that Friday and Saturday will probably be the coldest days so far this season, with highs “barely making it to 40 both days.”
