Hymes scores 30, Siena tops Mount St. Mary’s 65-53

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) — Evan Hymes scored 30 points and Brandon Walters had a double-double to lead Siena over Mount St. Mary’s 65-53 on Saturday night.

Walters finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and OD Anosike chipped in 14 rebounds for the Saints (2-0). Behind Walters and Anosike, Siena outrebounded the Mountaineers 47-34

Siena scored 16 points off 12 turnovers. The Mountaineers (1-2) forced 14 Saints’ turnovers, but managed just five points from them.

Only seven players saw action for the Saints, with Marcus Hopper seeing just four minutes off the bench. The Saints starters played an average of 34.2 minutes.

Julian Norfleet led the Mountaineers with 16 points, as all but one came on 3-pointers. Josh Castellanos added 15 points and Raven Barber chipped in 10 for Mount St. Mary’s, which fell to 0-4 against Siena.

The Mountaineers shot just 30 percent from the field (18 of 60).
