The Washington State Patrol said a 10-year-old Vancouver boy was struck by the driver’s side mirror of a car as he was on the state Highway 14 median near Lieser Road.

Keegan R. Patterson stepped into traffic about 11:23 a.m. Sunday and was grazed by a westbound 2003 Oldsmobile driven by Lindsay N. Ruggles, 25, of Vancouver. She was not cited.

The patrol said the boy suffered an abrasion to his right cheek and arm. His father took him to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, the patrol said.

A nursing supervisor said the boy was treated at the medical center and then released.
