DENVER (AP) — An anti-abortion group that sponsored an unsuccessful constitutional amendment in Mississippi says it will try again next year in Colorado, Montana and Oregon.
The Denver Post reports (http://bit.ly/sOtZyi ) that Personhood USA was unveiling its 2012 campaign Monday. It has campaigned for state constitutional amendments defining life as beginning at fertilization.
Mississippi voters rejected a personhood amendment this year. It sought to ban abortion, and many physicians said it could have made some birth control illegal.
Personhood amendments have failed twice in Colorado.
