SEATTLE (AP) — Washington Lands Commissioner Peter Goldmark is raising the alarm about the health of state forests under attack from bugs and diseases.
He plans to name a panel in December that will debate options for reinvigorating forests.
The Seattle Times reports (http://bit.ly/tOo8pl ) the options will likely be types of timber harvests, such as thinning, to head off outbreaks.
