Disappearance of St. Helens woman a mystery

SAINT HELENS, Ore. (AP) — Columbia County Sheriff Jeff Dickerson says the disappearance of a 19-year-old St. Helens woman is a troubling mystery.

Nichole Sherman left her house the afternoon of Nov. 13 to visit a friend six miles away and never arrived.

The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/v2ED9A ) searchers have checked roads and investigated the family and found no explanation how she could disappear.

Searhcers also have been looking in Longview, Wash., where she attended Lower Columbia College.

Her family has posted fliers seeking the public’s help in finding Sherman. She’s described as 5-foot-3 with a heavy build and brown hair. She was last seen wearing jeans and a camouflage hooded sweatshirt.

She was driving a red 2001 Chevy Cavalier with an Oregon license, YCD 562.
