Jacksonville beats Bethune Cookman 65-55

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Glenn Powell scored 20 points, 18 coming in the second half, with Russell Powell adding 12 points and seven assists as Jacksonville rallied for a 65-55 win over Bethune Cookman on Monday night.

The Dolphins (2-2) trailed by as many as 11 in the first half and were down three points at the halftime, 34-31, before holding the Wildcats (1-3) to just 7-of-26 shooting in the second half.

Jacksonville tied it 34-all on its first possession of the second half with a 3-pointer by Keith McDougald and never trailed over the final 17 minutes.

Bethune Cookman went on a 6-2 run to cut the deficit to three, 55-52, with 3:04 to go, but Jacksonville finished the game on a 10-3 spree.

The Wildcats were led by Garrius Holloman’s 16 points and 12 rebounds, the only Bethune Cookman player in double figures.
