FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Freshman guard BJ Young recorded a double-double with career highs of 15 points and 11 rebounds as Arkansas survived a scare, beating Utah Valley 67-59 Tuesday night.

The Razorbacks (3-1) finished the game on a 13-1 run after trailing 58-54 with 3:48 remaining.

The Wolverines (3-2) did not make a field goal for the final 4 minutes 58 seconds.

Arkansas took the lead for good at 60-58 on Mardracus Wade’s 3-pointer with 2:49 left. The sophomore hit three 3-pointers after halftime and totaled 11 points.

The Razorbacks struggled less than 12 hours after announcing they would be without leading scorer Marshawn Powell for the rest of the season. The junior forward tore a ligament in his knee during practice last week.

Arkansas hit only 20 of 60 shots but made 20 of 24 free throws.
