Braves sign 14 players to minor league deals

ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves have signed 14 players to minor league contracts, including right-handed reliever Adam Russell.

Russell pitched in 36 games for the Tampa Bay Rays last season, going 1-2 with a 3.03 ERA. He received an invitation Tuesday to big league camp next spring, along with right-hander Jason Rice, left-handers Dusty Hughes and Yohan Flande, catchers J.C. Boscan and Jose Yepez, infielders Ernesto Mejia, Drew Sutton and Josh Wilson, and outfielders Luis Durango and Jordan Parraz.

In addition, the Braves signed left-hander Jose Lugo, first baseman Ian Gac and outfielder Brahiam Maldonado to minor league deals.
