Kinney leads San Jose State past Holy Names 109-71

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — James Kinney scored 17 points and made a career-high nine assists to lead San Jose State to a 109-71 victory over Holy Names on Tuesday night.

The Spartans (2-3) led 56-38 at halftime and finished shooting a season-high 57.7 percent from the field. They also made a school-record 30 assists.

Wil Carter added 16 points for the Spartans while Calvin Douglas scored 13, Chris Jones 13, Keith Shamburger 12 and Jaleel Williams 11.

David Scott led the Hawks (4-4) with a game-high 20 points while Karlos Grier scored 12 and Fabian Lopez 10.
