FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Ryan Pearson had 24 points and Mike Morrison added 13 as George Mason limited Albany to 26 (16 for 61) percent from the field in the Patriots’ 66-46 win on Tuesday.

George Mason (4-2) scored the first 12 points of the game, and Albany didn’t score until Ralph Watts hit a jumper with 15:35 to play. The Patriots took advantage of the Great Danes’ sloppy play. In one sequence in the first five minutes, Albany committed two offensive fouls, had two turnovers and moments later missed three field goals in succession on another possession.

Morrison’s three-point play gave George Mason a 30-12 lead with 5:13 to play in the first half of the consolation round of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Albany (2-3) missed 28 of its 33 shots, and went 19 of 31 3-pointers.

Sherrod Wright added 12 points for George Mason.
