Pedestrian killed by hit-run driver in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Spokane police say a tanker truck that was stopped by the Washington State Patrol in Wenatchee was not the one involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian in Spokane.

KXLY reports (http://bit.ly/rAlPSE ) the truck was cleared by the driver's logs.

A man was struck and killed about 6 a.m. Wednesday at Second and Thor by a truck that pulled onto westbound Interstate 90.

Police told KHQ the driver may have been unaware of the accident.

Detectives trying to identify the truck checked red light photos at the intersection and surveillance video from a nearby convenience store.
