Eastern Michigan downs Rochester, Mich., 62-43

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — J.R. Sims scored 12 points Wednesday night as Eastern Michigan picked up its third straight win with a 62-43 victory over Rochester, Mich.

Antonio Green and Darrell Lampley had 11 apiece for the Eagles (4-1), and Matt Balkema scored 10 points with nine rebounds.

Ricky Doran and Dramell Hogan had double-doubles for the NAIA Warriors (9-3). Doran posted game highs of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Hogan had 10 of each.

Eastern Michigan stormed to an 8-0 lead before Rochester finally scored with 4:55 elapsed. It was 16-2 before the Warriors scored again, with 9:30 left in the first half.

The Eagles led 26-15 at the break and were not threatened in the second half.

Both teams shot less than 40 percent, but the Eagles held a 39-31 rebounding edge and forced 21 turnovers while committing 12.
