AUBURN, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol has identified the suspected driver of a car that hit a disabled car on Highway 167 at Auburn, seriously injuring a man pushing the car.
Trooper Julie Startup says a witness provided a license number that helped identify a 22-year-old Auburn man as the driver of the car that fled.
The disabled car was being pushed shortly after 3 a.m. Friday when it was rear-ended.
The man pushing the car was taken to Auburn General Hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive. Startup says he’s lucky he wasn’t killed.
Startup says a person who was inside the car that was hit was confused and distraught after the accident and indicated there may have been another person who ran off after the crash.
