PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The State Board of Higher Education has scheduled a meeting for Monday afternoon to vote on ousting University of Oregon President Richard Lariviere (la-RIV’-ee-AYR’).

The public meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on the Portland State University campus and will be streamed on the Internet. The board will discuss the issue in private an hour earlier.

Lariviere was told last week that his contract will not be renewed when it expires at the end of June. He has said he believes it’s because of a difference of opinion over the direction of the UO. Board members have not said why they want to oust Lariviere except to call it a personnel matter.
