TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Dennis Erickson’s run in the desert could be nearing an end.

The 64-year-old coach is planning to meet with Arizona State athletic director Lisa Love in the next few days to discuss his future with the program. Most indications are that Erickson’s five-year tenure will end after a monumental collapse by the Sun Devils.

Once in control of the Pac-12 South, Arizona lost its grip on the division and its season by losing its final four games.

The Sun Devils are bowl eligible for the first time in four years, but may not have their head coach with them in the postseason following Friday’s disappointing loss against Cal.

Erickson, who won a national title with Miami in 1989, is 31-30 in his five seasons with Arizona State.
