Tulane pulls away from New Orleans 72-53

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Tomas Bruha came off the bench to score 18 points and Tulane defeated New Orleans 72-53 on Saturday night.

Jordan Callahan added 16 points and Ricky Tarrant had 13 for the Green Wave (6-0), who are off to their best start since going 13-0 in 1991-92. Tulane’s Josh Davis had 10 points and 12 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season in the Hope for Hoops Classic.

It was the second win in a row against New Orleans for Tulane, which holds a 24-23 edge in the series.

The Green Wave led 34-24 at halftime and ended the game on a 10-0 run over the final 3:45. Bruha had two dunks and a layup in the run.

New Orleans (3-4) could get no closer than five points in the second half.

Antonio Wertz scored 26 points and Lovell Cook added 16, both career highs, for New Orleans.
