Williams leads Wagner over Delaware State 85-62

NEW YORK (AP) — Jonathon Williams scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Wagner over Delaware State 85-62 on Saturday.

The junior set a career-high in rebounds in his first-ever double-double.

The Seahawks (5-1) led 26-25 with 7:45 left in the first half before going on a 21-5 run. Marcus Burton hit a pair of free throws to cap the spurt with 1:01 remaining before halftime.

Wagner forced four turnovers during the run, and caused 15 give-aways by the Hornets in the game, leading to 21 points.

Latif Rivers added 16 points, Tyler Murray 14 and Josh Thompson 11 for the Seahawks, who improved to 5-1 for the first time since 2005-06.

Tahj Tate led the Hornets (2-3) with 17 points. Marques Oliver added 15 and Jay Threatt chipped in 14 for Delaware State, which shot just 36.2 percent from the field (21 of 58).
