1 dead in Spokane shooting

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Police say a 21-year-old man has died after being shot during a fight at a Spokane motel early Sunday.
Spokane police officers who responded to the report at about 2:40 a.m. found the man with a gunshot wound. He was in the motel elevator surrounded by friends. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Police spokeswoman Jennifer DeRuwe says detectives have detained one suspect.
