3 cars set on fire in Bend

BEND, Ore. (AP) — Police in Bend, Ore., are investigating arson fires that damaged three cars parked in the driveways of homes early Sunday.

Police were called to the first home around 1:50 a.m. Sunday after a passerby reported a car on fire. A second car fire was reported about an hour later. Witnesses reported seeing a man run from the area of the cars.

Officers searching the area found a third car on fire. Residents asleep in that home had to be evacuated because of concerns that the fire would spread to the home. Bend firefighters put out the fire.
