MILWAUKEE (AP) — Johnny Narron has been hired as hitting coach of the Milwaukee Brewers to replace Dale Sveum, who became manager of the Chicago Cubs two weeks ago.
Narron had been assistant hitting coach of the Texas Rangers after serving three years as a special assignment coach.
The older brother of Brewers bench coach Jerry Narron, he spent four years in the Milwaukee organization as hitting coach at Rookie Helena (2003, 2006), manager at Helena (2004) and hitting coach at Class A Brevard County (2005).
