HELSINKI (AP) — Lotus Renault GP says ex-world champion Kimi Raikkonen will return to Formula One to race for the team next season.

Lotus Renault’s website said Tuesday that the 2007 world champion has signed a two-year agreement to drive for the team.

Raikkonen left Formula One at the end of 2009 to pursue a career in rallying and said on the team’s site that his “hunger for F1 has recently become overwhelming.”

The Finn had 18 wins, 62 podium finishes and 16 pole positions in F1.
