COUPEVILLE, Wash. (AP) — The 18-year-old Langley woman charged with vehicular homicide for a crash that killed three friends appeared Monday in Island County Superior Court in Coupeville.

Bail for Kaylea Souza was reduced to $75,000, but her father Bill Souza said he didn’t know if he could raise it.

He told KIRO-TV (http://is.gd/Kgxnn9 ) his daughter is heartbroken and devastated by the crash.

Police say she was driving Nov. 12 and trying to pass a friend in another car when she lost control and hit a tree near Langley. Witnesses pulled her from the burning car, but three passengers died: 20-year-old Mick Poynter, 22-year-old Robert Knight, and 19-year-old Charles Porter.

Souza faces up to six years in prison if convicted.
