McMillan paces Fordham over Colgate 79-69

NEW YORK (AP) — Devon McMillan scored 20 points and Chris Gaston had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Fordham to a 79-69 victory over Colgate on Tuesday night.

McMillan had 16 points in the second half, when the Rams (2-2) battled back after trailing 50-43 with 13:44 remaining. He scored the next nine of Fordham’s points as it cut its deficit to a point, 53-52.

The Rams went ahead to stay, 59-57, on a McMillan layup with 6:52 remaining that started a 12-2 Fordham run.

Sterling Melville and Pat Moore scored 13 points each to lead the Raiders (2-4), who had six players in double figures. Nick Pascale had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Colgate, Mitch Rolls had 11 points and Mike Venezia and Brandon James scored 10 each.

Gaston surpassed the 1,000 mark in career points at Fordham. The junior forward now has 1,012.
