JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Parker Smith scored 15 points and North Florida scored the final six points of the game to defeat Bethune-Cookman 61-56 Tuesday night.
All six of those points in the final 3:26 by the Ospreys (4-4) came at the free-throw line, with Smith scoring the final four.
The Wildcats (2-5), who trailed 41-33 with 10:49 remaining, got six points from Garrius Holloman and five from Kevin Dukes in a 12-3 run to take a 45-44 lead.
They went cold in the decisive final stretch, however, as they missed six shots and turned the ball over three times while failing to score.
North Florida had a big advantage in free throws in the second half, making 19 of 25 to Bethune-Cookman's 6 of 14.
Andy Diaz added 13 points and Jerron Granberry 12 for the Ospreys.
Holloman led all scorers with 24 for the Wildcats.
