Vehicle strikes girl on Everett street

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) -- The Snohomish County sheriff's office says a 14-year-old girl was struck and seriously injured just before 7 a.m. Tuesday while crossing a street near Everett.
The driver stopped and helped the girl until medics arrived and took her to a hospital.
The sheriff's office says the girl was not at a crosswalk or intersection when she attempted to cross the street.
