Yale rallies to beat winless Hartford 74-69

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Austin Morgan scored 26 points and Yale rallied to defeat Hartford 74-69 on Tuesday night, denying the Hawks their first win of the season.

Reggie Willhite added 19 points and Greg Mangano had 17 for the Bulldogs (4-2), who overcame a 50-42 deficit with 11:03 to play.

Morgan, coming off a career-high 27 points Saturday in a win over Army, knocked down a 3-pointer to tie it at 56 with 7:36 to go.

The game was then tied three more times before Yale used a 6-0 run, capped by a Willlhite dunk, to lead 71-65. Genesis Maciel answered with a 3-pointer with 1:32 left, but Hartford (0-7) could get no closer.

Maciel and Wes Cole led the Hawks, who made 10 of 24 3-pointers, with 16 points apiece.

In the second half, the Bulldogs were 17 of 23 from the free-throw line while Hartford was only 5 of 8.
