SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Dylan Royer came off the bench to score 15 points, all on 3-pointers, and pace Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo to a 77-51 victory over Sacramento State on Wednesday night.

Amaurys Fermin added 12 points and Will Taylor 11 for the Mustangs (5-2), who won their third in a row.

Konner Veteto’s 11 points made him the only player in double figures for the Hornets (3-3), who dropped their second straight game.

Royer, a junior guard, tied his career high for 3-pointers as he sparked a hot offensive showing by Cal Poly, which made 28 of 55 shots (51 percent) and 9 of 21 3-pointers (43 percent). The Mustangs also outrebounded Sacramento State 40-21.

Cal Poly led 37-29 at halftime, and David Hanson’s layup gave the Mustangs a 44-35 lead with 16:39 to go. Then Drake U’U scored eight straight points in the next 2 minutes and sealed it.
