Alabama A&M edges Arkansas-Pine Bluff 28-27

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Deaunte Mason threw three of his four touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, including the game-winner with 57 seconds left to seal Alabama A&M’s 28-27 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday night.

Down 27-21 with just over seven minutes remaining, Mason led the Bulldogs (3-2, 2-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) on a 76-yard drive that took 6:11 off the clock and ended with an 8-yard TD pass to G’Alonzo Milton.

That was one of three TDs in the quarter to Milton. He also caught scores of 20 and 5 yards to rally the Bulldogs back from a 27-7 deficit after three quarters, and was on the receiving end of Mason’s 33-yard TD in the second.

Mason had 192 yards with two interceptions, adding 73 rushing yards for Alabama A&M. Milton caught seven passes for 87 yards.

Benjamin Anderson threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns for the Golden Lions (3-2, 2-1).
