COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned two players to their top minor-league affiliate and waived three others.

General manager Scott Howson said the moves made Saturday leave the roster at 29 players.

Forward Tomas Kubalik and defenseman John Moore were assigned to Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass., while forward Martin St. Pierre and defenseman Nick Holden were placed on waivers for the purposes of being assigned to Springfield. In addition, forward Alexandre Giroux was waived.

Right wing Jared Boll was placed on injured reserve and will be out at least 4 to 6 weeks with a broken thumb. He joins forward Kristian Huselius, defenseman Theo Ruth and goaltender Mark Dekanich on the list.
