Dolphins’ Thomas ruled out against San Diego

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Miami Dolphins rookie running back Daniel Thomas has been ruled out of Sunday’s game at San Diego because of a hamstring injury.

Also ruled out Saturday were cornerback Vontae Davis, who will miss his second consecutive game with a hamstring injury, and linebacker Koa Misi, sidelined by a neck injury.

Thomas missed the season opener due to his injury and aggravated it this week. His absence likely means playing time for Steve Slaton, claimed off waivers Wednesday.

Slaton rushed for 1,282 yards as a rookie with Houston in 2008, but was less productive after injuring his neck in 2009 and was released this week by the Texans.
