POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — J.J. Laster rushed for all three Jacksonville touchdowns, helping the Dolphins hold onto the early lead built in a 21-9 win over Marist on Saturday.

Laster finished with 35 yards on 18 carries, and a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs to open the scoring in the first and second quarters gave Jacksonville (3-2, 2-0 Pioneer League) a 14-0 advantage.

But the Red Foxes (1-4, 0-2) fought back with a Ryan Dinnebeil run from 1 yard out to pull within a touchdown at halftime. Kevin Fitzpatrick’s tackle of Andy Sainvil for a safety, after the Jacksonville defensive back ran into his own end zone following an interception, pulled Marist within 14-9 midway through the third quarter.

Laster’s final rushing score, a 4-yarder with 11:07 left, sealed the win for Jacksonville.

Tommy Reilly threw for 179 yards for Marist, but was intercepted twice and sacked five times.
