Gates inactive again for Bolts with foot injury

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Chargers star tight end Antonio Gates is inactive for the second week in a row with lingering plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

Gates has been bothered by the injury since last season. Also inactive for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins are cornerback Quentin Jammer (hamstring), defensive end Jacques Cesaire (knee) and rookies Bryan Walters, Jordan Todman and Darryl Gamble. Luis Castillo hasn’t played since breaking a leg in the opener.

Randy McMichael is expected to start for Gates and rookie Marcus Gilchrist for Jammer.

Inactives for the Dolphins are linebacker Koa Misi (neck) cornerback Vontae Davis (hamstring), running back Daniel Thomas (hamstring), defensive end Tony McDaniel (hand), wide receiver Roberto Wallace (quad), offensive lineman Ryan Cook and tight end Will Yeatman.

Jason Taylor is expected to start for Misi and Nolan Carroll for Davis.
