STEVENSON, Wash. (AP) — Searchers are looking for an Oregon woman overdue from a climb on Mount St. Helens.
The Skamania County sheriff’s office says 55-year-old Lori Williams was last seen Sunday afternoon about 500 feet from the summit of the volcano. Her climbing party turned around because of bad weather and a sick climbing member but she chose to continue.
She was reported overdue Sunday night.
Sheriff’s deputies, Forest Service rangers and the Volcano Rescue Team are searching Monday. Heavy fog hampered the search overnight.
