Oakville convict places ad for young girl

SEATTLE (AP) -- A 61-year-old Oakville man placed an ad in a Lewis County newspaper saying he's retired and would like to be a big brother to a 7- or 8-year-old girl and likes fishing, dinner, movies and bowling.

KOMO-TV reports police are investigating Ron Antonson, who has been convicted of possessing child pornography and indecent exposure.

Antonson said his criminal record is the result of a misunderstanding and a few mistakes. He says he is not a child molester and placed the ad because he always wanted a daughter.

Because of the critical response to the ad, he says he's removing it from the newspaper.
