SEATTLE (AP) — Amanda Knox is back on American soil after four years in an Italian prison.
A British Airways plane carrying Knox and her parents from London landed Tuesday evening at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The 24-year-old Seattle native was freed after an Italian appeals court on Monday threw out her conviction in the sexual assault and fatal stabbing of her British roommate. The University of Washington student was studying abroad in Perugia.
The conviction was overturned amid doubts over DNA evidence. Prosecutors insist she was among three people who killed 21-year-old Meredith Kercher.
