Pasco police officer cleared in shooting

PASCO, Wash. (AP) -- The Franklin County prosecutor says a Pasco police officer was justified in shooting a burglary suspect who had fired at him.
Cleared of any wrongdoing, Officer Chad Pettijon returned to work Monday.
The Tri-City Herald reports (http://bit.ly/nJh345 ) the 19-year-old suspect was hit twice in the Sept. 14 shooting. After his release from a hospital, he was jailed on an assault charge and has pleaded not guilty.
