Washougal — Vancouver-based commercial developer Killian Pacific is reportedly interested in buying the Columbia Riverfront property formerly occupied by the Hambleton Lumber Co. sawmill, earmarked for a $200,000 cleanup grant awarded by the state Department of Ecology.

Citizen input for reuse of the property will be solicited at a public meeting at 6 p.m. Oct. 26, at the former courthouse building located at 89 C St.

Ecology awarded the grant to the port to restore habitat and craft a plan for the 25-acre site at 335 A St. Zoned for highway commercial use, the property is accessible to state Highway 14 via the Second and Sixth street exits. The tract also is adjacent to Best Western’s recently opened $5.5 million hotel.
