SEATTLE (AP) — A Seattle man arrested in the hit-and-run death of another man trying to cross a street in a motorized wheelchair has been charged with vehicular homicide and felony hit and run.
The King County prosecutor’s office says 26-year-old Daniel Mozzochi was charged Wednesday in last weekend’s death of 57-year-old Douglas Lefever.
Prosecutors say Lefever was in a marked crosswalk with a walk signal when he was struck in the early morning hours of Oct. 2 near Seattle’s Magnolia Bridge. He died later at Harborview Medical Center.
A witness followed the departing car and took down the license number.
Mozzochi’s bail was set at $250,000. His arraignment is scheduled Oct. 18.
