Tsonga wins to reach third round at China Open

BEIJING (AP) -- Top-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France beat Chinese qualifier Zheng Ze 6-3, 6-4 to reach the third round of the China Open.
Juan Carlos Fererro of Spain also advanced by beating compatriot Marcel Granollers 6-4, 6-4.
In the women's tournament, second-seeded Victoria Azarenka of Belarus pulled out, giving Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia a walkover win. Monica Niculescu of Romania, Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, and Maria Kirilenko of Russia also reached the quarterfinals.
