Two injured in 3-car crash on SR500 Wednesday night

Two people were injured in a three-car crash Wednesday evening on state Highway 500, officials said.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of state Highway 500 and St. Johns Boulevard.

According to a Washington State Patrol bulletin, the crash happened after a four-door Kia, driven by Stacy Shrewsberry, 43, turned left against a red light and ran into a Ford Ranger heading east through the intersection that was driven by Ryan Bergquist, 20.

Bergquist’s Ranger spun into a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Chetney Hambright, 31, that was stopped at a red light on the north side of the intersection, the release said.

Shrewsberry and her passenger, Brandy Roth, 22, were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with head, neck and back pains, the state patrol said.

Both were treated and released, hospital spokesman Ken Cole said Thursday morning.

The other drivers and a 1-year-old in Shrewsberry’s car were not injured in the collision.

Everyone involved was from Vancouver.

Shrewsberry was ticketed for failure to obey a traffic signal. Her Kia and Bergquist’s vehicle were totaled and Hambright’s Suburban has $1,000 in damage, the release said.
