PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Investigators in a Pacific Northwest manhunt say they’ve recovered a body of a young adult and have notified the family of a missing Oregon teenager, although the remains have not been positively identified.

Lt. Gregg Hastings of the Oregon State Police says the evidence shows it was not an accidental death. He says the body was found late Tuesday in a wooded area in the Willamette Valley.

Authorities have been looking for 19-year-old Cody Myers of Lafayette, who disappeared after leaving Saturday for a jazz festival on the Oregon coast.

A boyfriend and girlfriend who are suspected of killing his stepmother in Everett, Wash., had been spotted using Myers’ car.

The boyfriend’s father is also missing.
