MARYSVILLE, Calif. (AP) — A couple suspected in the killings of an Oregon teenager and a Washington woman have pleaded not guilty in California to charges of weapons possession and vehicle theft.

Yuba County Superior Court Judge Julia Scrogin on Friday set bail for David Joseph Pedersen and his girlfriend, Holly Grigsby, at $1 million each. She cited their danger to the public and their potential flight risk.

They are expected in court Tuesday for an extradition hearing.

Pedersen and Grigsby faced one count each on the weapons and vehicle theft charges. They shared an attorney during the first court appearance since their arrest Wednesday north of Sacramento.

Authorities want to question them in the deaths of 19-year-old Cody Myers, whose body was found Tuesday in an Oregon forest, and Pedersen’s stepmother in Washington.
