Portland police investigate man hit by train

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Police responding to a report of a man struck by a train in northwest Portland found a victim with traumatic injuries who was taken to a local hospital.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says the train stopped Friday night. Police and rail officials are investigating.

There was no immediate report on the man's condition.
