BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — Campbell racked up 247 rushing yards on 55 carries as the Camels ran past Butler 38-23 on Saturday.

Carl Smith led the way for Campbell’s (2-3, 1-2 Pioneer Football League) rushing attack, with 147 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. He scored from 16 yards out in the second quarter then again from 2 yards out in the third quarter to give the Camels a 17-9 lead.

Running back Jordan Cramer’s 5-yard run in the fourth quarter extended the Camels lead to 38-16 and put the game out of reach.

Butler’s Andrew Huck threw for 381 yards on 34-of-47 passing but the Bulldogs struggled to reach the end zone, settling for field goals on their first three drives of the game.

The win snapped a four-game conference losing streak for Campbell and marked only the second win for the Camels against Butler (3-3, 1-2).
